Fraser Island Retreat

Finally found a place to get that refreshing ale! And the onsite shop has the best souvenirs. Had a blast doing communal laundry, BBQing, and sharing stoves and fridges. The Satinay Bar and Bistro was the cherry on top!

The location was absolutely mind-blowing and offered incredible value for money. The overall Fraser Island experience was simply jaw-dropping and the Retreat provided excellent basic accommodation for my family of 4. We loved meeting other families and cooking in the communal kitchen, which added to the super experience of seeing and hearing lots of wildlife. The staff were amazingly helpful and informative, and the shop had all the necessary staples. The pub served OK food for those who didn't want to cook. The bungalow was lovely and clean, and the well-maintained camp kitchen had everything we needed. Happy Valley was a great base for exploring the island, and we're already looking forward to our next stay. The bistro provided a delicious dinner, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The beds were comfy, and the location was ideal. The staff, including the lady with very short hair in the restaurant on NYE and the older gentleman, were so lovely and pleasant. The groundskeepers were also very pleasant.

the rooms were impeccably clean and the staff, especially Alister, were incredibly accommodating and friendly. We reported a broken shower head on Christmas Day and it was fixed within 15 minutes by a polite and friendly maintenance staff member, thanks to Chan. the location of the retreat was perfect for our needs, and Tracey at the restaurant was very informative and helpful. the communal areas were clean and well-equipped, providing a great opportunity to chat with other guests. the beds were also very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. Cons: Everything was fantastic! 😊.

Beautiful location next to a picturesque swamp view. Spacious rooms with a lovely deck. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms were tiny, stuffy, and lacked basic amenities like wardrobes and towel holders. Bathrooms were shared and located down a hallway.

The cabin at Fraser Island Retreat was amazing! It had a separate bedroom with a comfy queen-sized bed and more beds in the open area. So much space! The bungalows had a private balcony with beautiful views of either the sea or the garden. So peaceful and relaxing!

Personally, I found the en suite bathroom in the cabin a bit small. But hey, that's just my opinion!

Our family had a fantastic time playing pool and enjoying a friendly game of billiards at the property. It was a great way to relax and have some fun together. The atmosphere was lively and the staff made sure we had everything we needed for a great time.

For dads, it would be great if there were more outdoor activities available for children.

The location of the hotel is perfect, offering a central spot near the beach. the rooms are a good size with lovely decks overlooking the surroundings. the pool area is nice, and there are sun decks available. the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant serves decent food.

The cleanliness of the bathrooms can be improved, with some hair found in the shower and toilets.

I had a great time at this retreat! The staff were friendly and always up for a chat. The hotel facilities werevery comfy and tidy. The location was really convenient, close to the beach. The continental breakfast was substantial and good value for money.

The cabin at Happy Valley was in the perfect location, with easy access to the beach and tracks across the island. the staff, especially Peter Green, were incredibly friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean with pristine bedding. the maintenance response time was exceptional, with a faulty shower head fixed in just 15 minutes. the Christmas lunch had a great variety of delicious dishes. the location and staff were fantastic.
